Seriously?

Yesterday, Bailey somehow got her cast soaking wet, so I called the dr. to ask what I needed to do. Blow it dry? Leave it alone? Take it off and recast it?
A few hours and several socks later I got a call from the nurse practioner that placed that cast and told me the best thing to do would be come in and remove the cast so that it doesn't stick to her skin and her leg become emaciated. He had also spoken to her pediatrician earlier and became aware of my concerns with having a cast on a leg that we weren't positive was broken. He said we would take the cast off and see if she would walk.
When they took the cast off Bailey still wouldn't put any weight on her foot, but we needed her to try.
The cute medical assistant coaxed Bailey to go pick out a sticker. As soon as Bailey heard the word 'sticker' she trotted away like nothing had ever happened. Yep! She could walk just fine.
So they are now saying that it was probablly a deep tissue bruise. So yes, the splint and the cast did help her heal a bit and the x-ray confirmed that she doesn't have any serious bone issues, but what a huge waste of money!!!
She's been jumping and running around the house ever since we got home. I'm afraid of every little move she makes.
Because there was no fracture, they decided there is no need to do any of the tests and we decided to just watch her for a week and see how she does on her leg.
